Bulk update permissions to add a group or a user to multiple spaces in Confluence Cloud
Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian apps on the cloud platform.
Summary
Note: These instructions are for sites without role-based access. If your site uses roles, the process is similar, but you'll select a role rather than individual permissions.
You need to update several spaces at once to add/update spaces for which a certain group, team or individual user must have a certain subset of permissions.
Solution
Add users, groups and teams in bulk
Access Confluence Administration > Permissions > Bulk space access.
Choose a user, group or team to bulk update across spaces on your site.
Please select whether you want to make this bulk update for all spaces (Global and personal), only for Global Spaces, or only for Personal Spaces.
Choose which subset of permissions the user/group is supposed to have after the action is performed.
Note: If you choose a user, group, or team that is already part of some spaces, this action will UPDATE the spaces' current permissions with the new subset that you've selected above.
Hit Add to all.
Remove users, groups and teams in bulk
Access Confluence Administration > Permissions > Bulk space access.
Click Select all to check all the boxes.
Click Select all again to unclick the boxes.
Save.
