Automation Rule Actor vs Automation Rule Owner

What is the difference between the automation rule Actor and automation rule Owner?

The automation rule owner is the user who creates the rule. The rule owner will be notified via email when the rule throws an error.

The automation rule actor is the actual user who performs/executes the action defined in the rule. Currently, we do not have an option to bulk edit the rule actors and hence it requires manual intervention in each rule to update the rule actor.

  • The automation rule actor is required to have the necessary project permissions as described in Manage project permission to perform any issue-related executions like edit, comment, update, etc.
