Query story points in Atlassian Analytics

In Jira, it is common to create issues that have been assigned story points. You can use Atlassian Analytics to query the story points assigned to an issue to help track the progress of work. Let’s walk through how this can be done to create a chart that finds the story points assigned to issues.

Solution

Querying story points assigned to an issue

1. Open the chart builder by creating a new chart or editing an existing chart.

2. Add the Issue key and Story points columns from the Issue table under the “Jira family of products” section and group both columns.

3. Run the query.

4. Optional: Add other columns to your query such as Issue type from the Issue table under the “Jira family of products” section or Project key from the Project table.

You’ll now be able to visualize the issues with story points and the value of those story points.
