Solution

  • Verify whether a user has the necessary Product permissions.

Steps for Product permission

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings (the gear icon) > User Management > Product.

  2. Under the product Jira Software, click on Manage Product.

  3. Search for the default group associated with the product and confirm if the user is a member of that group.

  • Confirm whether a user has permission for the Global Advanced Roadmap Plan.

Steps to confirm Global Advanced Roadmap Plan

  1. Navigate through Settings (gear icon) > Products, then select Permission under PLANS.

  2. Verify that the user possesses the required permission as outlined in Advanced Roadmap global permission settings.

  • Validate if a user has Edit/View permission on a specific Plan.

Steps to validate Edit/View permission on the plan

  1. Proceed to the respective Plan and go to Plan Settings > Permission under the Access section.

  2. Make sure that user permissions align with recommendations found at plan level permissions documentation.

  • If all permissions are confirmed, next check Issue source accessibility.Within your Plan, navigate to Plan Settings > Issue Source.

    • If Project is selected as an issue source, ensure that the user holds "Browse Project" rights for that particular project.

    • If Filter is designated as an issue source, verify that the User has "View" permission on this filter; it's essential for viewing issues from this filter on their timeline.

    • For Board-specified sources, ensure that the User possesses "view" access on the board's filter query.

The above steps should help validate the user’s permissions within your JIRA environment.
