Problem

SourceTree repository windows do not reopen when restarting SourceTree even though "re-open project windows at startup" is enabled in the preferences.

Diagnosis

Environment

This issue is likely to be present in versions 2.0.1 and prior of SourceTree. Later versions of SourceTree should respect SourceTree's Window restoration preferences independently of any OS-level settings.

Cause

This is happening because there is an OS setting set called "Close windows when quitting an application" turned on in Mac OS X 10.8 (In Mac OS X 10.7 it's called "Reopen windows…", so instead check if it is turned off).

Resolution

Disable the "Close windows when quitting an application" setting.
