Claude Integration with Atlassian Rovo Fails for Specific Users

Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian apps on the cloud platform.

Summary

A single user or a subset of users is unable to complete the Claude integration within Atlassian Rovo, while other users in the same organization can integrate successfully. The issue typically manifests as an error during the login or authentication phase (e.g., when logging in via Google). The integration process relies on time-sensitive security tokens. If the system time on the user's local machine is out of sync with the actual time (even by a small margin), the authentication tokens may be rejected as invalid or expired, causing the integration to fail.

Solution

To resolve this issue, ensure the affected user's machine has the correct system time and is set to sync automatically.

For Windows:

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time.

  2. Ensure Set time automatically is toggled On.

  3. Click Sync now under "Synchronize your clock."

For macOS:

  1. Go to Apple menu > System Settings > General > Date & Time.

  2. Ensure Set date and time automatically is enabled.

  3. If it is already enabled, toggle it off and back on to force a refresh.

Verification:

After syncing the system clock, have the user clear their browser cache or use an Incognito/Private window to attempt the Claude integration again.
