What is the environment field?

Environment is a system field, it's free-text and used to register information about the environment from where the ticket was generated.
In some cases it might be required to add it to the issue screen, for example, when you create a Work Item collector and enable the Collect browser info option. If the Environment field is not added to the Work Item Screen, the information collected by this setup will not be stored or visible on the request.
Reserve the name environment for the Environment system field. Jira allows you to create another field with the same name and type, but having duplicate fields can make screen configuration and JQL searches confusing.
