User last login shows Never Logged in but with activities

Summary
User shows "Never Logged In" but there are activities (comments, issues) recorded against the user.
Environment
Any Jira version
Diagnosis
External user directory is in place
User belongs to an external LDAP directory
Cause
Every time a user logs in (i.e. first and subsequent times), the user's data in Jira will be updated. But, If a User Directory is removed and added it back again, "Login details" column displayed "Never Logged In".
Behaviour does not occur when User Directory is disabled or enabled.
