Unable to view teams options within Jira Service Management when clicking on Teams
Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian apps on the cloud platform.
Summary
When a user clicks on "Teams" within the Jira instance, it displays "View your profile," and the user does not see options such as "Create teams," / "Your teams," etc.
Diagnosis
Check to see if the user that is trying to access "Teams" is part of a group that has Browse users and groups permissions under global permissions.
Cause
This issue occurs when a user account isn't part of a group that has the Browse users and groups permission under global permissions.
The Browse users and groups permission is a Jira platform-level global permission (not JSM-specific) — the same Administration path applies whether the user needs Teams access from Jira Software, Confluence, or JSM.
Solution
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue:
Go to Global settings → System → Global Permissions
At the bottom of the page, you will have the grant permission option.
Select the "Browse users and groups" permission and the necessary group, then click the "ADD" button.
After granting permission, have the affected user log out and back in (or open a new browser session), then confirm that the "Create teams" / "Your teams" options now appear when clicking Teams.
