Unable to select a custom field in the Two dimensional gadget

Summary
A custom field "Developer" of type User picker does not appear for selection in the X-axis, or Y-axis of the Two dimensional gadget
Environment

Diagnosis
The custom field "Developer" of the type User picker (multiple users) is not displayed in the X-axis or Y-axis of the two-dimensional gadget
As per the documentation Adding the Two-Dimensional Filter Statistics Gadget, the User picker custom field is supported by the gadget
On reviewing the custom field settings, noticed that the "Search template" for the field was set to None
Cause
The Search template for the custom field was set to None, which led to the field not being searchable.
Solution
Navigate to the Issues > Customfields
Click on the 3 dots (...) next to the custom field "Developer"
Select Edit details
Choose User picker & Group Searcher in the Search template dropdown
Go to the Dashboard and Edit the gadget, you'll now see the custom field in the dropdown
