Summary

When selecting to add Post-Functions, Validators or Conditions in a Workflow, the screen is presented without the radio buttons to select which Post-Function, Validation or Condition to add to the transitions in a workflow.

This may be observed after a recent Jira upgrade or App (plugin) upgrade or installation.

Environment

All versions of Jira Core 8.x.

Diagnosis

Open a new incognito window on your browser and try to add post-functions, validations or conditions to the same workflow. If the radio buttons are displayed, this KB article applies to your case.

Cause

Browser cache, data or extensions may interfere with Jira's (and potentially any other site/product) behavior.

Solution

If incognito mode worked, you may follow the steps below to close the gap on what's causing the issue:

Extensions

  1. Disable all browser extensions. Reload the page and see if it works.

  2. If it works, reenable one extension at a time and keep reloading the page and checking which extensions breaks it.

  3. Disable the extension whenever performing admin actions, try a different browser without the extension or contact the extension's vendor about updates or fixes

Cache and browser data

Clear all browsing cache and data. Reload the page and see if it works.
