Tickets are automatically assigned to the viewer in Jira

Summary
When a user opens a Jira issue in View Issue mode, the issue automatically gets assigned to the same user.
Solution
By default, the Assignee would not be changed to the person viewing the ticket. The shortcut to get the ticket assigned to the user who is viewing it when the letter "i" is pressed as mentioned in the document Use keyboard shortcuts as below:
Thenew Jira issue viewsupports a limited set of keyboard shortcuts (o to open the selected issue, a to assign the issue to someone, i to assign an issue to yourself, or m to quickly add a comment) for editing and updating issues. It also supports navigation with keyboard shortcuts (J = down, K = up, N = next column, and P = previous column).
