Summary

Problem

When using JIRA Software, you might notice that the version of the JIRA Agile plugin is still 7.0.10, which is not the bundled JIRA Agile version for the JIRA Software version you are using. This might cause some functionalities to fail such as Importing a Project as the JIRA Agile plugin versions do not match up despite having the same JIRA Software and JIRA Core version.

Diagnosis

Environment

  • You are using JIRA Core and Software 7.1 and above.

Diagnostic Steps

  • Check the atlassian.jira.log for the Upgrade History of the instance that has the JIRA Agile plugin version mismatch to see if you have upgraded from a JIRA version that was previously using JIRA Agile 6.4.0

Cause

It's very likely that you have previously followed the KB This version of JIRA Agile requires a minimum build number of #45 in order to proceed to replace the JIRA Greenhopper plugin with that of the 7.0.10 version in order to upgrade successfully however the 7.0.10 jar file was not replaced after that.

Solution

Resolution

  1. Go to the JIRA Software version history page and download the correct version of the JIRA Software obr file.

  2. Remove the jira-greenhopper-plugin-7.0.10.jar file from the <JIRA_HOME>/plugins/installed-plugins folder.

  3. Restart JIRA Afterwards

  4. Navigate to Administration > Add Ons > Manage Ons and upload the obr file that you have downloaded from step 1.
