Subtasks missing in Portfolio Plan Interface post upgrade

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Summary
Few sub-tasks are missing from the improved plan interface after Jira upgrade.
Environment
Jira version 8.5.x upgraded to Jira version 8.20.x.
Diagnosis
Execute the search filter which is source of Plan to confirm number of issues expected to be displayed on plan.
Open plan Interface and confirm if expected number of issues are displayed.
Solution
Navigate to the plan configuration page, click Planning interface > Disable improved interface
As a result, Legacy Plan Interface is now enabled and it should now show the missing issues as well
Re-enable the improved Plan Interface. This will refresh the existing plan to show all the missing issues from the input source
