Summary

Learn how to identify and resolve connection issues between Jira Cloud and Bitbucket Data Center.

Diagnosis

There are persistent connection issues in Jira across all projects, indicating a potential integration problem between Jira Cloud and Bitbucket Data Center.

Jira application links showing a network error for Bitbucket Server and system status for Confluence. Instructions on how to replicate the error are included.

Cause

It happens after the upgrade of the Bitbucket server from version 8.X.X to 9.X.X, so the Application Tunnels app on the Bitbucket server got disabled as the upgraded binaries updated to the latest version; however, it disabled the Atlassian secure tunnel connectivity app.

Due to this, it shows a Network error at the cloud Jira application link.

Solution

After enabling the plug-in on the Bitbucket Data Center side and re-authenticating the OAuth process at the cloud Jira App links, the problem will be fixed for the connection issue between Bitbucket Data Center version 9.X.X and the cloud Jira instance.
