Summary

Learn how to resolve the duplicate values error in Data Manager's 'Cleanse & Import' function.

Solution

Secondary column setup in the mapping section

This happens because a secondary column was setup in the mapping section that has duplicated values.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Navigate to the 'Cleanse & Import' section on Data Manager.

  2. Identify the Data source from which you got the error.

  3. Click on the three dots and select > Mapping.

  4. In the Mapping section, identify your secondary column.

Screenshot of attribute mapping settings. The Identifier string is mapped as a secondary key. All attributes have a status of "Mapped".

  5. Navigate back to the 'Cleanse & Import' section.

  6. Click on the three dots on the failing Data Source, and now select 'Cleansing Rules'.

  7. Add a Cleansing rule 'Remove Duplicates By Column'.

  8. Select the 'Secondary Key' that you identified in Step 4.

Data cleaning settings. Options for excluding null primary keys, removing duplicates by column (enabled for the "Identifier" column, reason: "Force Cleaned"), and removing primary key duplicates are shown.

  9. Place this new rule before the 'Remove PK duplicates'.

  10. Save it and re-run the 'Cleanse' process.
