Release button / icon / shortcut missing in Project Sidebar

Problem
The Releases icon is missing from the Project Sidebar.
Navigating to the Release Page (<baseURL>/projects/<ProjectKey>?selectedItem=com.atlassian.jira.jira-projects-plugin:release-page) will show a 'Page not found' error.
Diagnosis
Versions have been configured in the project accordingly.
Cause
The Fix Version/s field is hidden in the Field Configuration.

Resolution
Show the Fix Version/s field via Project Administration >> Fields >> Field Configuration.
