Summary

The Sprint Start Date in an advanced roadmaps for Jira plan is showing one day prior to the actual start date of the sprint.

Diagnosis

Check your timezone in Jira.

For example, let's imagine Jira uses the IST timezone and your sprint start time is set as 12:30 a.m. IST is equivalent to UTC +5:30. Therefore, the time displayed on plans would be UTC =  IST - 5:30 a.m., which is shown as the previous day.

Cause

As for all dates in Advanced Roadmaps, sprint dates are converted to their UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) equivalent.

Solution

Set the sprint start time to account for the UTC differential

To overcome this, select a sprint start date of 5:30 a.m. when your timezone is IST hours. For other time zones, follow the equivalent math to ensure that a conversion to UTC doesn't change the sprint start date.
