Logging is not Writing to Specified Location

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Symptoms
After modifying log4j.properties to write the atlassian-jira.log to a new location, it's not creating the file.
Resolution
If you're using backslash to reference the path, please change it to forward slash. For example: c:/temp/atlassian-jira.log.
