Solution

If you have configured swimlanes in a Kanban Board based on stories, but they are not visible on the board, there might be a few reasons for this issue:

  1. Board Filter: Double-check the board filter settings to ensure that the swimlanes are being applied correctly. Make sure that the filter includes the stories you want to use as swimlanes.

  2. Swimlane Configuration: Verify that you have correctly set up the swimlanes based on stories. Check if the swimlane settings are properly configured to use stories as the basis for organizing the board.

  3. Sub-tasks Visibility: If the swimlanes are based on stories that have sub-tasks, make sure that the sub-tasks are visible on the board. Sometimes, board configurations might hide sub-tasks via the board filter JQL, which can affect the visibility of swimlanes based on stories. For steps to review the board filter and confirm whether sub-tasks are being hidden, see How to hide sub tasks on (Kanban/Backlog) view | Jira and Jira Service Management | Atlassian Support.
