Jira Gadget Error due to missing third-party add-on

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Summary
One or more gadgets can't be displayed in the dashboard with the below exception shown in the gadget window. However, not all gadgets are affected:
Gadget error
This gadget cannot be displayed on your dashboard. This could be due to a licensing problem or an application error. If you need this gadget, contact your administrator for assistance. Otherwise, you can remove it from your dashboard.

Can not find gadget definition. Addon <plugin_key> which provide the gadget definition was probably uninstalled.Cause
The needed addon may have been disabled or uninstalled.
Solution
The problem can be rectified with either of the following options depending on the situation:
Enable or reinstall the addon.
Remove the faulty gadget from the dashboard if the third-party gadget is no longer in use.
