Purpose of this article

AutoLink Plugin is a plugin for Jira which is provided by Atlassian Lab, and which automatically creates Issue Links.

The purpose of this article is to explain how this plugin works and what is does.

Jira Server/Data Center on any version from 8.20.0

Plugin functionality explanation

When AutoLink finds issue key in issue's summary, description or comment, it creates link between this issue and the issue with corresponding issue key.

User mentions an issue in a comment, summary or a description.

Link to a mentioned issue is automatically created and is visible under the Issue Links mentions section.

When viewing the mentioned issue it's visible in which issues it was mentioned under the Issue Links is mentioned by section.

If the project key is removed from the comment, summary or description, then the Issue Link is also automatically deleted.
