Jira Agile features are running infinite refresh loops after upgrade

Summary
Agile features are not working properly after upgrading Jira Software and all agile boards and reports are continuously refreshing.

Diagnosis
The workaround has been completed in the KB article Hiding the Jira version number from page markup prior to upgrading.
Cause
Servlet mappings can change between Jira versions and the modifications done in one version may not apply to another.
Solution
Revert to the unmodified file provided by the installer. When upgrading, make sure to use the newweb.xml file and copy your custom modifications to it rather then using the old file according to the Jira Upgrade Checklist.
