'java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError' when starting JIRA

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Symptoms

The following error appears in the atlassian-jira.log when starting JIRA:

1 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:com/atlassian/jira/issue/search/parameters/lucene/SingleFieldMultiValueLuceneParameter

Cause

Unzipping JIRA installer ZIP in Windows XP is broken
