Issue Transitions Performed by Unrelated User

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Summary
Issues are automatically transitioned to different statuses by a single user (by default the Project Lead). These transitions are not specifically performed by that certain user.
Example
Cause
The default Automation rules setup with a Jira Service Management project will execute certain events (Transition on comment) by the Project Lead.
This can be changed to any user that is apart of the project.
Solution
Navigate to Project → Project Settings.
Select the Automation tab on the left sidebar.
Click on Change default event user and select the new user.
All future events will be performed as this newly selected user.
