Summary

Overview

This article will explain how to change the Date Picker calendar to set Monday as the first day of the week.

Environment

Jira Data Center on any version from 9.0.0.

Solution

To show Monday as first day of the week, please do the following:

  1. Go to Administration > System > User Interface > Look and Feel.

  2. Scroll under "Date/Time Formats" section.

  3. Look for UseISO8601 standard in Date Picker and check the checkbox. You might need to click on the Yes/No to be able to see the checkbox.

  4. Update the field value.

Known limitation to this solution

This affects all users. It's currently not possible to make this change on a per-user basis.

Known Issue

If you find that enabling the ISO8601 option does not change the date/time format and Sunday is still displayed as he first day of the week, you may be impacted by the bug below, which impacts Jira versions that are lower than 9.0.0 (This bug was fixed in Jira 9.0.0): JSWSERVER-7238 - JIRA Agile/Software does not respect JIRA's ISO8601 setting
