How to Remove 'Unknown' Option from 'Component' and 'Fix Versions'

Symptoms

There is normally an Unknown option in Component and Fix Version/s fields when creating/editing an issue. You may want to remove this option from these fields, and require that a Component or Fix Version is set.

Resolution

The Unknown option can be removed by making the field mandatory.

  1. Go to Administration > Issues > Field Configurations

  2. Click Configure on the relevant configuration

    1. Click Required on the relevant field; OR

    2. Choose Autocomplete Renderer for the relevant Field
