Summary

There may be times in which Jira Issues are being imported via a CSV file and they should have Asset Objects linked to them through an Assets Custom Field.  This article highlights the syntax for the CSV file that should be used to populate Assets Custom Fields on Jira issues.

Environment

Jira 9 and above

Solution

The syntax for the Asset Custom field that is to be used to link an Asset Object to an imported issue would be to include the Asset Object Key as the data for that field:

1 2 Summary,Description,"Asset Object" "Asset","Asset Test",HR-10

In this example, the Jira Issue has an Assets Object Custom Field called "Asset Object", and the Asset Object we want linked to the issue has a key value of HR-10.
