Summary
In JIRA 5, the first time a user logs in, a window appear with the message: What's new in JIRA 5. Users can disable this window, but the first time each user logs in, this message appears.
This behavior can result in a mixed content warning within JIRA running on HTTPS.
Solution
How to remove this message for every user that logs in the first time
To prevent this window message from appearing on the screen for every user that logs in the first time, a JIRA Administrator must disable the plugin to prevent the message to be shown.
For JIRA 5.0.x:
Administration > Plugins > System Plugins.
Look for JIRA What's New Plugin
Disable the plugin.
For JIRA 5.1.x and above:
Administration > Plugins > Manage System Plugins > Show System Plugins
Look for JIRA Welcome Plugin
Disable the plugin
For JIRA 6.0.x and above:
Cog icon > Add-ons > Manage Add-ons
At the filter, change "User-installed" to "System"
Look for JIRA Welcome Plugin
Disable the plugin
