How to Disable the Help Button in Jira Data Center globally

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Summary

Jira has a help button in the menu bar, as shown below, and some Jira administrators may want to disable it globally.

Solution

To disable, you need to:

  • Go to Administration ⚙ > Manage Apps > Manage Apps

  • Change the filter to show All apps

  • Look for the Atlassian Jira - Plugins - Header Plugin

  • Expand the entry itself and the list of modules

  • Look for the Help Menu Panel and disable it

  • The changes will take immediate effect
