How to configure Jira's Introduction Gadget

Note that this KB was created for the Data Center version of the product. Data Center KBs for non-Data-Center-specific features may also work for Server versions of the product, however they have not been tested. Support for Server* products ended on February 15th 2024. About
Jira's default/system dashboard includes the Introduction Gadget – a customizable text gadget intended to welcome users to your organization's Jira site.
When logged in as a Jira administrator, the gadget features a slightly modified default introduction.
This default message isn't adjustable, but can be overridden entirely with a global setting.
Customization
To customize the Introduction Gadget, login as a Jira administrator and head to ⚙️ (gear icon) > System > Edit settings. In the introduction text area, enter your desired message. This text area supports Jira's Wiki markup formatting. For more info, see Text Formatting Notation Help. The gadget does not support HTML/CSS.
To preview your Wiki markup, click the
(preview) button. After clicking update, the changes will propagate to the gadget. To restore the default message, clear the text area and click update again.
