Github Pull Request status not updated in Jira development panel

Summary

GitHub Pull Request(s) (PRs) merge successfully. However, in Jira, the PR(s) show as "Open".

Attempt backfill or manual updates

  • If there is a large set of PR statuses that were not updated in Jira, we can run the backfill process

  • If there are only a couple of PRs that are not updated, we can manually update the PRs on GitHub

Root causes

  • When a PR is updated in Github, Jira does not receive the event

  • Duplicate commits with the same name and files

  • Permission issues with OAuth when the PR was updated
