Resolve Missing Fields in Jira Cloud Work Item Types

Solution

Adding a context to a custom field

Don't worry! If your field isn't showing up, it's likely due to a missing context. Let's fix it with these simple steps:

  1. Access the field from ⚙ → Work Items → custom fields

  2. Find the custom field you want to configure, select More actions (•••), Contexts and default value.

Custom fields page: A field's options menu is selected, which includes Edit details, Contexts and default value, Translation options, Associate to Screens, and Move to trash.  The numbers 1 and 2 superimposed on the image indicate the order of actions

3. In the next screen, click on "Edit configuration" under the default configuration scheme.

4. Choose the applicable work item types in the next screen.

5. Click on "Modify".
