Estimation of Story Points displayed on the Backlog of the board does not match the status category of the issues.
In the below example, we see that there are 5 issues in the Sprint.
Out of the 5 issues, 2 issues are in To do status category, 2 issues are in In Progress category and 1 issue is in Done category.
However, the Story Points calculation of these issues does not add up to their status category.
Environment
Cloud: Company-managed Software projects
Diagnosis
Currently, users configure their issue statuses to belong to one of the three options below. However, they will not be able to configure the columns on the agile board to be in the below categories.
The automatic assumption is that the very left column in a Board is To Do and the very right column is Done and all the columns in between are considered to be In Progress.
To do
In Progress
Done
Feature Request: JSWCLOUD-18939 - In Configure Board, allow multiple "To do" (Grey) and "Done" (Green) columns (company-managed)
Cause
Review the Column mapping under Board settings and you will see that one of the statuses in the To Do status category is mapped to a column that belongs to In Progress type making these issues to also be considered as In Progress when calculating the Estimation.
Solution
If you want the Estimation to be based on the status category, the only workaround is to map all the To do statuses to the first column on the board underBoard settings > Columnsfor them to be considered as To do issues.
Reference: Configure columns
Once the Mapping of the statuses to columns is updated, you will find that the Estimation calculation is also updated accordingly.
