CSV exported issues don't show AM, PM in Date/Time field

Summary

Learn how to fix missing AM/PM in Date/Time fields when exporting Jira issues by adjusting the Complete Date/Time Format.

Solution

The exported values of the date/time field are controlled by the Complete Date/Time Format in the Look and Feel (https://<Site-name>/secure/admin/LookAndFeel!default.jspa) section of Jira Cloud instance.

Follow the steps below to add the am/pm marker:

  1. Navigate to Cog icon > System > Look and Feel.

  2. Scroll down to the Date/time formats section.

  3. Click the value of Complete Date/Time Format, add "a" at the end of the value as shown in the image below.

    The required date/time format is dd/MMM/yy h:mm a, with an example of 23/May/07 3:55 AM.  A red arrow points to the format.

  4. Click Update.

  5. Retry the export action.
