Symptoms

Runtime exception checking for database driver correctness:

1 java.lang.ClassCastException: org.objectweb.jotm.Current cannot be cast to javax.sql.DataSource

Cause

The file entityengine.xml is not properly configured. You may have specified the JNDI address for UserTransaction instead of the JNDI address for the data source (jdbc/JiraDS).

Resolution

Make sure you have only changed the parts of the entityengine.xml file specified in the appropriate directions for connecting Jira to an external database.
