Change the Atlassian organization name
Platform Notice: Cloud Only - This article only applies to Atlassian products on the cloud platform.
Summary
Learn how to change your Atlassian organization's name without affecting your URL or user-facing content. Understand that organization names are not unique; a unique ID identifies each organization.
About the name change
Organization names aren't unique; it is possible to have multiple organizations with the same name. Each Atlassian organization has a unique ID, which serves as the unique identifier for a particular organization.
If you want to know your organization ID, please navigate to admin.Atlassian.com. The screen and the organization ID will be shown, and you will select the relevant organization. Here is the format of the URL for the page where the organization ID is shown:
https://admin.atlassian.com/o/<organization_id>/overview
Solution
Changing the Organization's name
As mentioned, changing the organization name itself should have no user-facing effects. The only place it should be visible is to you within admin.Atlassian.com. That also means that changing the organization name won't trigger a change in your instance name. When you create your instance, the default organization name inherits the name for your instance URL. Still, it doesn't work in reverse (because you can ultimately link multiple instances to your single Organization).
Here are the steps to change the Organization name:
Access admin.atlassian.com.
Select the Organization.
Navigate to settings.
Change the Organization name and click Save.
