Add attachments to Assets in Jira Service Management Cloud

Summary

Learn how to add attachments to an Asset object using the user interface. Note that attachments can't currently be added via the REST API or CSV.

Solution

In order to manually add an attachment to an Assets object, you need to follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Assets.

  2. Open the relevant Schema where your object is located.

  3. Click on the object where you'd like to add the Attachment.

  4. Look for the Attachments section in the object view.

  5. Click on the Upload new attachment (plus sign + ) button under the Attachments section.

    The "Attachments" section is highlighted, with options to upload or add a new attachment.  The schema tree shows "Hard Drive," "File," and "Application" categories.
  6. Select the file that you would like to add as an attachment from your computer.
