Add a custom field to request type of a team-managed project in Jira Cloud

To add a global custom field to the request type of a Team-managed project in Jira Cloud, you first need to add the field to the team-managed project. Then, you can customize the request type to include that global custom field.

Here's a step-by-step guide:

  • Navigate to Project Settings > Request management > Fields.

  • Select Add Fields and type the name of the field in the search box.

  • Set the checkmark for the field and click on Add 1 field.

Once the field is added to the fields in the team-managed project, it can be added to the team-managed request type.

  • Navigate to Project Settings > Request management > Request type

  • Select the appropriate request type

  • The custom field will now appear when searching for it
