Unable to add Objectives to Capabilities in Jira Align

Summary

Even though all related role permissions are enabled the user is unable to add the expected level of work items (i.e. Capabilities) to the goals and objectives. The quick “Add” button is missing in the Capability work items.

Solution

This behavior is due to having incorrect Objective Mappings set in the details of the Portfolio.

To address this please go to Admin > Setup > Portfolios > Select Portfolio > Objectives Mappings and correct the mappings by selecting Capability.
