Summary

Metric values are reflected in Enterprise Insights table "current_dw.[Metric]" table, however, no respective entries are found for the same Metric ID in the "current_dw Metric Value” table.

Environment

Jira Align

Diagnosis

While checking a sample objective created in Jira Align e.g. Metric ID 729 we can observe the data is correctly populated in Enterprise Insights "current_dw.[Metric]" table, however no respective entries for [Metric ID] 729 in the "current_dw.[Metric Value]” table

Cause

This is caused by the lack of data input(s) in the JA Objectives/Key Results > Check-in.

Solution

To address this issue, we need to trigger the process that populates the Enterprise Insights current_dw.[Metric Value] table by performing a Check-in action on JA Objectives/Key Results > Check-in.

Here are the steps I followed to see changes in JA reflected in the EI current_dw.[Metric Value] table.

  1. In JA, navigate to the objective's grid and open the objective

  2. Click on the check-in and update the current value

  3. Hit Save and Close

  4. Wait for the data to be pushed from JA to EI.

After the above, you should see the entries reflected in the EI current_dw.[Metric Value] table as in my test example.
