Summary

There are a number of different structures for how projects are used (and relate to each other) that are possible in Jira. Not all of the structures that are possible in Jira are compatible with Jira Align.

This article defines which structures are supported when using the Jira Connector for Jira Align and discusses the benefits and impact of the different structures

⚠️ Deciding how to structure Projects in Jira is an important step during pre-integration of Jira and Jira Align. Each environment is unique and careful consideration should be taken to implement an approach that best needs the business operations and requirements. If unsure then consider working with Atlassian's Advisory Services team / Solutions Architects and/or an Atlassian Partner to decide on and implement a suitable structure.
