Unable to find Stories through Quick Assign Stories field in the Dependency panel in Jira Align

Summary

Unable to find some Stories through Quick Assign Stories field in the Dependency slide out panel.

Diagnosis

• Confirmed that the stories being searched through Quick assign section already exists in Jira Align

• Confirmed that the Dependency is not created from Program to External entity in which case we will not be able to assign Stories to Dependency.

Cause

In order to be able to link a story to a Dependency, both the Story and the Dependency have to be from the same Program Increment.

Solution

1. Navigate to Dependency slide out panel.

2. Note the Program Increment to which the Dependency is mapped.

3. Navigate to the slide out panel of the Feature linked to the Dependency. The Story is linked to this Feature.

4. Check if the Program Increment of the Feature/Story is same as that of the Program Increment of the Dependency.

5. If not, align the Feature/Story and Dependency to the same Program Increment.
