Summary

This article describes how to setup 'story type mappings' between Jira Align (JA) and Azure DevOps (ADO).

The steps below will show how to configure the ADO in JA to allow the ADO sync to create a story in JA when an issue is created in ADO.

Environment

Jira Align (JA) and Azure DevOps (ADO)

Solution

For example you want to map a work item of type 'issue' from ADO so that it can be mapped as a story in JA.

The steps in JA are:

  • Go to "Platform Settings-> Dropdown"

  • Create a story type with a custom value - for example 'fede_ado_issue', see image

  • Go to Connector → Azure DevOps settings

  • Search for the connector

  • Open the 'items' tab of the connector

  • Expand the story

  • In section 'story type mappings', add the mapping between the story type we called 'fede_ado_issue' above and the work item 'issue' in ADO.

These steps will allow the ADO sync to create a story in JA when an issue is created in ADO.
