Jira Align custom hierarchy filter level selection not appearing in the configuration bar

Summary

When a user selects a custom hierarchy in the top configuration bar/filter, it disappears instead of presenting the expected hierarchy level selection drop-down.

Diagnosis

When selecting a custom hierarchy in the top configuration bar/filter, it disappears from the list instead of presenting the expected hierarchy level selection drop-down.

Cause

The problem occurs if the Manage Organizations setting, found at Administration > Platform > Team, is set to "No."

Solution

Change the Manage Organizations toggle to "Yes." This setting can be found at Administration > SETTINGS > Platform > Team tab, where you can set the ability to filter by custom hierarchy/organization structure in the "Tier1/Configurationbar."
