Jira Align: Accessing the 'External Report' from Lookerstudio returns "Lookerstudio.google.com refused to connect" error message in browser

The JA functionality of 'external report' is used to view embedded reports and other web content in Jira Align (JA). See the JA documentation:

After configuring JA in Settings → Platforms → Report (see image_1) with a Lookerstudio Google Cloud URL to accessing the 'External Report' in JA, Lookerstudio returns "Lookerstudio.google.com refused to connect" error message in browser (see image_2).

Diagnosis

Trying to It returns error "Lookerstudio.google.com refused to connect"

Cause

Embed option for the report on Looker Studio was disabled.
