Summary

The Feature Burndown report is not showing progress even though some of the Features have been Accepted.

The report, containing the chart, is called "Program Increment Progress" (aka PIP) and the chart is called "Program Increment Burndown (By Feature)"

Diagnosis

Stories are Accepted but the Feature Release Burndown chart is not showing the progress.

Cause

The “Remaining” line will only begin to show progress once all stories are accepted under a Feature and then the Feature itself has been accepted as well.

Solution

Check the Pre-requisites:

  1. PI must exist in the system and be tied to a program.

  2. Features must be created and tied to the PI.

  3. Stories, with point values, must be created and tied to features.

Confirm that:

  1. The Accepted Stories have LOE points. Stories with 0 LOE points will not impact the line.

  2. All Stories are Accepted

  3. The Feature is Accepted.

  4. The Feature belongs to the PI and Program in the top-tier configuration bar.

  5. The Features and Stories “Accepted Date” field must have a date in it

    1. Check for an “Accepted Date” in the details of the features/stories

    2. Check that the “Accepted Date” has not been emptied by reviewing the Audit log of the features/stories
