Summary

When a Jira Align Feature syncs with Jira, the Primary Program field is locked, so it can’t be edited. This was done to avoid breaks in the synchronization, but sometimes, Features are stuck on incorrect Programs due to things like configuration changes, which leads to the necessity of changing this.

Solution

Change the Project in Jira

The appropriate and easiest way to change the program of any Jira Align item synced with Jira is to move the item to a different project on the Jira side and let JA sync this information.

To do that, please ensure that both the source and target Jira projects are mapped in Jira Align, then:

  1. Go to Jira and open the synced item in question

  2. Click on the 3 dots on the right, and select Move

  3. Select the new Project and fill in the necessary fields

  4. When completed, wait for the sync to happen and the information to be sent to JA
