Sync data from HRIS connectors to Talent

Syncing data from your Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is the first step to using Talent effectively to design your workforce. Once your data is synced, you can start to allocate your positions to focus areas. This connection is facilitated by Teamwork Graph connectors, which are set up by organization admins in Atlassian Administration.

Note: Multiple connectors may be set up with Teamwork Graph, but only one connector may be used by Talent at a time.

Sync data from a connector

  1. Select the Settings icon () in the top right corner to open Talent administration.

  2. Select Talent admin settings > Position and worker data. The connectors that have already been set up by your organization admins are shown on this page.

  3. Select Sync for the connector you want to use to get position, worker, and organization data from. You can only sync from one connector at a time.

Your data sync will start and might take some time before all data is shown in Talent. If you need to connect a different connector, you have to stop syncing from one to sync from another.

Data is synced from the connector every six hours, and organization admins can sync outside of that window using the connector’s settings in Atlassian Administration.

If your sync is unsuccessful, see our documentation toView and troubleshoot sync errors to fix and sync again.

For more information on managing your connectors, see Manage your HRIS connector.

Sync Teams app data from a Workday connector

Team data is ingested from your Organization report from the connector to Workday. This data is ingested alongside your position and worker data, but your organization admin need to take an additional step to have Team information listed alongside your positions.

Syncing connector data with the Teams app is currently only supported with the Workday connector. In future versions, Teams will support data from the HRIS S3 connector.

  1. In the Teams app, select the Settings icon () in the top right corner to open Admin settings.

  2. Select HRIS connections.

    1. If your organization admin has not yet configured a Teamwork Graph connector for Workday, they will need to do so before proceeding to the next step.

  3. In the section titled Sync HRIS teams in the Teams app, select Sync for the connector you want to use.

If you have multiple Workday connectors set up, ensure you’ve selected the same connector for both Talent and Teams so the right teams and positions data is associated to each other.

When the sync is complete, you can navigate to Teams from the left sidebar in the Teams app to see the list of ingested teams, and see Team information listed for each position which is assigned to a team in Talent.

When you select a Team in Talent, you’ll be taken to the view of that Team in the Teams app. You can also then filter positions by their teams.
