Connect Atlassian apps to Focus

In order to add work items to focus areas, a product admin must connect the product sites that contain the work items. Work items are called different things depending on the source and its configuration.

The following are considered work items:

  • Epics and above from Premium and Enterprise plans of Jira Software and Jira Work Management

  • Projects from Atlassian Projects

  • Epics and above from Jira Align

To connect Jira sites

This process applies to Jira Software and Jira Work Management sites on Premium and Enterprise plans.

You can connect as many Jira sites from the same organization as you need and remove access at any time.

  1. Select the Settings icon () in the top right corner to open Focus administration.

  2. Select Focus admin settings > Atlassian product connections.

  3. Select the Jira card. The Jira sites page appears.

  4. Select Connect site. All sites available are shown in the side panel.

  5. Choose the sites you want to connect. If sites you need to connect aren’t displayed, contact your org admin or Atlassian Support.

  6. Select Connect. The connected sites appear in the list.

If you disconnect a site whose work items are already linked to focus areas, the work items will be unlinked from the focus areas and will impact the data on the Work tab in a focus area.

To connect to Atlassian Projects

Since Atlassian Projects is a platform product, it should be connected for you automatically when it is on the same site as your Focus product.

If you plan to connect Atlassian Projects to focus areas and that product isn’t connected, raise a ticket with support.

To connect Jira Align

Connecting to a Jira Align site requires help from Atlassian Support. If your Jira Align site hasn’t been connected for you, raise a ticket with support.
